What is SAND used for?

SAND enables players to create, play, and govern within The Sandbox gaming platform. It is the primary in-game currency used across The Sandbox metaverse. Players can potentially earn SAND through gameplay and spend the SAND to play games and purchase in-game items. Creators can spend SAND to acquire ASSETS and LAND, which are digital pieces of real estate. SAND also allows holders to participate in the metaverse's governance decisions.

SAND tokenomics

The max supply of SAND is capped at 3B tokens. The token distribution is as follows: 12% allocated to Binance Launchpad, 17.18% to seed sale, 4% to strategic sales, 12% to the foundation, 19% to the team, 10% to advisors, and 25.82% to the company reserve.

How does SAND accrue value?

SAND has intrinsic value as the in-game medium of exchange to carry out all transactions within The Sandbox ecosystem. Users need SAND to purchase services and assets. Players aso cannot inherit LAND and ASSETS, two of the most valuable in-game items, without SAND. Lastly, players can stake SAND to earn platform fees and rewards (paid in SAND). The platform collects a 2.5% fee on every in-game transaction and allocates it to the staking pool to reward all users who stake their tokens.
